Little Silver man admits role in $1.5 million kickback scheme

A Little Silver man who served as the director of parks for Hudson County has admitted to his role in a $1.5 million kickback scheme.

On March 5, Thomas A. DeLeo, 76, pleaded guilty in front of U.S. District Judge Claire C. Cecchi to conspiracy to commit honest services fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

A Jersey City man, William A. Murray, 56, who owned Murray Paving and Concrete, a business that did work for the Hudson County Department of Parks and Community Services, also pleaded guilty in the case to conspiracy to commit honest services fraud…
