Central Park just experienced March weather not seen in New York for 160 years

New Yorkers have experienced a bizarre weather trend throughout March that hasn’t been seen in over 150 years.

While good weather is typically cause for celebration, it also capped a weather trend that hasn’t been seen since 1869, according to the National Weather Service. The final days of March saw highs of 80 degrees, marking the third straight March in which there was no measurable snow at Central Park.

This is the longest run of Marches without measurable snow going back more than 157 years. Before this, the only two times there had been back-to-back March months without snow were in 1945 and 1946, and again in 2021 and 2022…
