New AI-powered NJ Transit signs tell riders when the bus is coming

Select bus stops around Monmouth and Hudson counties are part of a New Jersey Transit pilot program testing out AI-powered signs that tell riders when the bus is coming. Customers can still check on the NJ Transit app or with the MyBus text tool.

New York City-bound commuters Elmira and Leon, of Manalapan, told News 12 the new signs are more convenient.

NJ Transit says the signs are installed at these locations:

  • Hoboken – 15th Street & Willow Avenue
  • Hoboken – 9th Street & Washington Street
  • Union City – 31th Street & Bergenline Ave
  • Union City – 31st Street at JFK Boulevard
  • Jersey City Heights – Congress Street at Palisade Avenue
  • Manalapan – Route 9 North at Gordon’s Corner Road
  • Howell – Aldrich Road Park and Ride
