KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Michigan Dental Association Foundation Mission of Mercy offered a free dental clinic at Wings Event Center on Saturday.
The services they offered included fillings, cleanings, extractions, and dental education for those who might not otherwise receive care.

“There’s a segment of the population who has resources, but then there is a big segment in the middle that doesn’t have insurance or maybe has some that they’re considered maybe working for where they just don’t have the extra resources to get something done like dental, so they procrastinate it or put it off,” said Cameron Elrod, president of the Michigan Dental Association Foundation.
Officials with the event say the program depends on support from volunteer dental professionals, community organizations, and sponsors so they can stay committed to improving oral health access for Michigan residents.
