KALAMAZOO, Mich. — An 18-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly fired off a gun in a residential area Tuesday afternoon, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS).
Officers were called to the area of Elm Street and West Ransom Street after neighbors reported hearing gunfire, police said.

A description of the suspect was given to investigators, who then began looking for him. Neighbors told police he may have been hiding nearby.
