Comstock Twp. superintendent sought buyout in 2025, report cites hostile workplace

COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A 2025 report is shedding light on accusations that the Comstock Township offices were a hostile workplace.

The same investigation reviewed whether there was merit to the efforts of the now former superintendent to get out of his contract. Attorneys say his request seemed credible.

This week, the Comstock Township board voted to approve the termination of superintendent Scott Hess without cause — with a payout worth more than $412,000.
