BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A West Michigan lawyer said a Battle Creek police body camera video showing officers detaining 16-year-old Jeremiah Spearman is “disturbing,” but said key questions remain about what happened before cameras began recording.
Anastase Markou, with the law firm Markou Montague Levine Defense, tells News Channel 3 the video has prompted questions about whether officers violated the teenager’s civil rights.
“The video is disturbing, no question about that,” Markou said. “However, we don’t know the full story.”…
