KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A hit-and-run crash prompted a power outage in Kalamazoo early Tuesday morning, police say.
It happened in the area of Parkview Avenue and Oakland Drive. On scene, a News 8 crew saw damage outside a store on Oakland Drive.
Consumers Energy said the car hit two power poles, interrupting service for thousands of people and darkening traffic lights. By 11 a.m. — several hours after the crash — around 3,100 customers in the area remained without power, the utility’s interactive outage map showed.
