PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) — Residents of the Woodmont Avenue-area of Portage should anticipate a loss of water access and subsequent boil water advisory later this week while the city makes repairs to the water infrastructure.
The boil water advisory will go into effect at 8 a.m. on Wednesday for most of Woodmont Drive from East Kilgore Road to Windyridge Drive as well as most of Brennerton Drive. A full map of the affected homes can be seen below.
Everyone in the affected area should boil their water for two minutes before consuming it. It’s safe to bathe in the water without boiling it.
The infrastructure repairs will cause a drop in pressure, which can allow bacteria to enter the system. The boil water advisory is precautionary; no bacteria had been found in the system as of Monday…
