Flock to require case number for searches, recommends storing data for only seven days

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Flock Safety is changing some of its rules for how law enforcement uses its automatic license plate reader system.

Thursday, the company announced law enforcement searches will have to be tied to a case number by the end of the year. The company is also making its tool for identifying unusual search activity mandatory.
