PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) — A Massachusetts man is facing up to 20 years in prison for performing scams targeting senior citizens across the state of Michigan.
In Oct. 2025, the Portage Department of Public Safety was notified by the FBI about a “nationwide organized crime ring,” after detectives discovered that an elderly Portage resident had lost over $600,000 in a scam, a Thursday release from Portage Public Safety said.
