71 apartments planned for former downtown Kalamazoo public safety training site

KALAMAZOO, MI – The former site of a public safety training center in downtown Kalamazoo could soon become home to 71 new residential units.

Developers presented plans to the Kalamazoo City Commission on Tuesday, Sept. 8, seeking tax breaks to make the project viable.

The 400 Rose Apartments Phase III development at 116 W. Cedar St. is being led by developers AVB and Hinman. The plan is to transform the site into a four-story residential building with a mix of studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments…
