Western Michigan University officials have requested that Valley Oaks residents immediately unplug the heating and air conditioning units in their rooms and leave them unplugged until further notice, following a voluntary manufacturer safety recall.
As of Sept. 24, the manufacturer indicates that it has received one report of plastic on the unit melting and no reports of injuries, according to WMU News.
