BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A man charged with the murder of his girlfriend was found guilty in Calhoun County.
Tommie Heard was found guilty Thursday of first-degree premeditated and felony murder and domestic violence third offense, according to Calhoun County Prosecutor David Gilbert.

Heard was initially charged after the stabbing of his girlfriend, Morgan Schug, on April 12, 2024. Police said Heard, Schug’s on and off again boyfriend, admitted to killing her.
Heard was previously charged with four domestic-related incidents, including three misdemeanors and a felony, as previously reported.
