The city of Battle Creek and the community of farmers and restaurant employees are mourning the loss of a leader in the local restaurant community, Chef Trent Mead, who has sadly passed away.
Trent worked in many of the best restaurants throughout Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, and nearby areas. He participated in many competitions and mentored students and the next generation of chefs.

Many people know him as the head chef for Lucky Rooster and view him as a true leader, a teacher, and someone who made a lasting impact on the people in the community around him. His colleague, chef Toni Davis, from Kitchen Proper, shared on his social media:
