BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — A man has been charged with a weapons violation after a gun went off in a student’s backpack in Battle Creek last week.
Appearing in court via video linkup, Wade Monroe Davis was arraigned Tuesday on a count of being in possession of ammunition as a prohibited person.
On Sept. 22, a third grader brought a gun to Ann J. Kellogg Elementary and it went off in a hallway. In a document filed with the court, the Battle Creek Police Department said it was a 9 mm handgun and that it fired while the student put the backpack into locker. No one was harmed.
