St. Julian Winery opens tasting room up north

PAW PAW, Mich. (WOOD) — Paw Paw-based St. Julian Winery & Distillery has opened a new tasting room near Gaylord.

The new spot at 2250 M-32 marks St. Julian’s seventh location. To celebrate its opening, the Gaylord tasting room is offering free wine tastings through Oct. 14.

“We are incredibly excited to officially become part of the Gaylord community and welcome guests into our newest tasting room,” Apollo Braganini II, the winery’s president, said in a statement.

St. Julian was founded in 1921 and bills itself as Michigan’s largest and longest operating winery. It’s known for wines, spirits and sparkling juices, which are distributed across several states.

The winery says most of its grapes are grown within 40 miles of the Paw Paw location, thanks to its estate vineyard in Coloma and partnerships with many local growers…
