PORTAGE, MI — The city of Portage will spend more than $28 million during the next three years on road repairs.
Next year, portions of the city’s major thoroughfares — including Romence, Shaver and Portage roads — will be closed for milling and resurfacing.
The map below shows the major planned 2027 projects.
Here’s the list of major roads planned for construction in 2027:
- Romence Road between Westnedge Avenue and Lovers Lane for milling and resurfacing.
- Shaver Road between Vanderbilt Avenue and West Centre Avenue for milling and resurfacing
- Portage Road between Osterhout Avenue and Mandigo Avenue for milling and resurfacing
- Old Centre Road between Moorsbridge Road and West Centre Road for milling and resurfacing
- Moorsbridge Road between West Centre Road and Romence Road for milling and resurfacing
Portage will also chip and fog seal, durapatch and crack seal roads in multiple locations throughout the city. Drivers may also see crews working on culvert replacements on Portage Road…
