Inmate earns GED at 66 in Calhoun County jail

A 66-year-old incarcerated at the Calhoun County Correctional Facility has earned a General Educational Development certificate, marking a personal achievement that local law enforcement officials said reflects the value of educational programming offered inside the jail.

The accomplishment by Judge Tucker was recognized by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, according to a community announcement. Tucker completed the GED program while incarcerated at the facility and received support through a partnership with the Battle Creek Public Schools Adult Education Department.
