KALAMAZOO, MI — The city of Kalamazoo approved a $288 million budget for the 2024 fiscal year after making final adjustments on Monday, Jan. 22. Six Kalamazoo residents spoke out against a $1.6 million renovation of Arcadia Creek Festival Place during the meeting, prompting the commission to remove federal COVID-19 relief funding for the project from the budget before it passed.
