Wrestling: Bronson paces local trio at Bill Evans Memorial Invitational

BATTLE CREEK – Three teams from right here in Branch County made the trip to Battle Creek Central High School on Saturday to compete against 16 other schools in the Bill Evans Memorial Wrestling Invitational.

Of the three local schools it was Bronson leading the way in the team standings with a fourth-place finish, ending the day with 145.5 points thanks to three weight class champions and a total of seven medalists.

The team from Union City finished in seventh place overall with a score of 123.5 points, a number that included nine medalists on the long day, including one runner-up finish.

Tekonsha is the final local team making the trip, as the Indians finished in eighteenth place with a score of 8 points.

The overall team championship went to Adams High School with 172.5 points while Grandville finished in second place with 170.5 points.
