West Michigan mourns the loss of country star Toby Keith

ALLEGAN, Mich. – Legendary country artist Toby Keith died Monday at the age of 62 after a battle with stomach cancer. Keith, known for such hits as “Should’ve Been a Cowboy” and “Red Solo Cup,” frequently performed at the Allegan County Fair. He played the venue from 2002-2005 and again in 2007. The fair hoped to bring him back in 2022, but Keith was unable to play then due to scheduling conflicts. This was also the year of his stomach cancer diagnosis.
