PORTAGE, MI — The Portage City Council voted unanimously Tuesday against rezoning two properties for commercial development on Chelsea Lane neighbors vehemently opposed. Fourteen residents spoke during a public hearing about the proposal to rezone 6008 and 6018 Chelsea Lane for business and off-street parking use. The rezoning would have paved the way for a Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers location.
