KALAMAZOO, MI – Two of the three suspects in an April 2023 Kalamazoo murder case have now had charges of open murder, carjacking and armed robbery dismissed. Deontae Levon Perez, 33, is one of three suspects arraigned late last year on charges related to the April 2023 death of 24-year-old Kavonta Martin. He had his charges dismissed Monday, Feb. 12, in Kalamazoo County District Court by Judge Tiffany Ankley.
