Kellogg Community College plans to continue its Black History Month activities with a Black-owned Business Showcase on February 20. The event will be held on the college’s Battle Creek, Michigan campus from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Kellogg Room of the Student Center and the Binda Performing Arts Center lobby will host the event.

The showcase aims to connect Black-owned businesses, entrepreneurs, and supporters. It seeks to encourage collaboration, networking, and relationship building within the local community. The event is open to the public and free of charge.

Businesses to be featured at the event include Aunt Nay’s Cookies & Treats, Becoming Balanced, Bread & Basket, and others. These businesses offer a variety of services, from dessert shops to therapy services.

The showcase will take place at the same time as KCC’s annual Soul Food Luncheon in the Binda Lobby. The menu includes fried chicken, ribs, pound cake, and peach cobbler. Sweet potatoes and collard greens will be provided by Taste-A-Licious Catering. Tickets for the luncheon will be sold on the day of the event, costing $5 for students and $10 for others.
