PD: Motorcyclist dies after crashing into curb in Battle Creek

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — The driver of a motorcycle died Sunday afternoon after crashing, according to police.

Around 3 p.m., Battle Creek Police were called to the intersection of Beckley Road and Helmer Road S for a crash. Officers found that the driver, a 36-year-old woman, was headed south on Helmer Road, turning left onto eastbound Beckley Road when she hit the southside curb of Beckley.

She was taken to the hospital but died in the ambulance while enroute, according to police.

Officers say speed doesn’t appear to be a factor in the crash. The victim was wearing a “full-face helmet,” police said.
