KALAMAZOO, MI – Going back to its roots as a speakeasy, the Green Top Tavern will celebrate 100 years of serving alcohol in Kalamazoo with a Roaring ’20s party next week. Patrons are encouraged to show up after 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, in their best 1920s wear – from gangster style to flapper dress, said owner Randy Newby. There will be big band music, bathtub gin and like any Thursday, half-off appetizers from 6 to 9 p.m.
