Court docs: Men admit to ‘road rage’ in deadly crash

TALLMADGE TOWNSHIP (WOOD) — Court documents are revealing new details about a deadly “road rage” crash near Allendale.

Last week, 23-year-old Ethan Oosterhouse of Middleville and 42-year-old Denis Perez were charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter and reckless driving causing death.

According to court documents, on June 25 , deputies say a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Oosterhouse and a Dodge Charger driven by Perez were engaged in aggressive “road rage style driving” while traveling eastbound on Lake Michigan Drive.

“We did have witness accounts of that, both speed, passing, you know, swerving in and out traffic,” said Captain Jake Sparks with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

A crash eventually occurred between Perez and Oosterhouse, who are accused of driving well over the posted speed limit. That collision caused Perez’s vehicle to hit a car in the westbound lanes near Trillium Drive. That head-on crash killed 27-year-old Sha-Tera Coleman from Grand Rapids.
