No one hurt in Kzoo house fire; Riverview Drive closed

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — No one was hurt when a home in Kalamazoo caught fire Saturday morning.

Around 4:20 a.m., fire crews with the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety were on Riverview Drive near Hoptop Avenue for a fire.

Responding officers found the home fully engulfed in flames. KDPS said it was under control within 20 minutes, but the home is inhabitable.

No one was hurt.

Dispatch said that Riverview Drive is closed in both directions from Hoptop Avenue to Gull Road. Drivers are advised to avoid the area.

It’s unclear what caused the fire or how long traffic will be impacted.

The fire remains under investigation.
