Three Rivers volleyball reaches semifinals at Cereal City invite

HARPER CREEK — Three Rivers made it to the gold semifinal bracket of the Cereal City Invitational held on Saturday. The Wildcats fell to a strong Harper Creek team 25-8, 25-14 in that semifinal, which placed Three Rivers into fourth place overall.

The Lady Cats beat Battle Creek Pennfield and Coldwater and split with Mendon in pool play. They then beat Sturgis 25-10, 22-25 and 15-7 in the quarterfinals.

Miley Southland led with 71 assists, she totaled 12 digs with nine aces and nine kills and Tori Thorbjornsen scored 53 digs with eight aces. Natalie Bachinski scored 35 digs with four aces.

Allie Yost finished with 30 kills and 11 digs, Bekah Beachey totaled 16 kills with 12 digs and six blocks. Dani Glass finished with 14 kills and 23 digs and London Hoffmaster put down 10 kills. Addie Moore recorded 11 digs, Leah Kane had nine digs and Braylee Burg scored four blocks while Jazmyne Carson-Moore totaled four kills.
