Kalamazoo agency awarded $3.5M to train Michigan teachers in math

KALAMAZOO, MI — The Kalamazoo Regional Education Association received a $3.55 million grant from the Michigan Department of Education to help K-5 students improve in math. The funds will be used to train K-5 teachers across Michigan in “Math Recovery,” a listening-based approach to teaching math, said Diane Owen-Rogers, director of culture and belonging at KRESA.
