Three Rivers Community Schools closed Thursday over social media threat

THREE RIVERS, Mich. (WOOD) — Three Rivers Community Schools will be closed Thursday for a threat posted on social media, according to the district.

“TRCS takes this information seriously and the safety of our school community is important. We will be actively investigating the threat and will update if any further information is required,” the district wrote in an email to families.

Three Rivers Police Department wrote on its Facebook page that it was aware of a threat made on social media and was working with the district to investigate.

The closure comes just three days after Byron Center Public Schools closed for a day over rumors of a threat. Police later found that possible threat was unfounded.
