Kalamazoo-area district breaks ground on first new school in 50-plus years

KALAMAZOO, MI — Comstock Public Schools broke ground on the district’s new STEM Academy building on Thursday, Sept. 12. The STEM Academy will be the district’s first new building since 1972, Comstock Superintendent Jeffrey Thoenes said in a news release. The last district school built was Northeast Middle School in 1972 – which is now Comstock Elementary School.
