Former hotel to become 80-unit homeless family shelter in Kalamazoo Co.

KALAMAZOO COUNTY, Mich. — The Kalamazoo County Board of Commissioners announced Tuesday that they approved plans for an 80-unit transitional shelter to address surging family homelessness.

The county plans to convert the former Country Inn & Suites in Portage into a facility providing temporary housing and support services for homeless families.
