A homeless man was staying under a bridge in Kalamazoo that was being repaired by some Michigan construction workers. The workers at the site claim the homeless man was antagonizing them while trying to do their jobs.

Two of the workers went out drinking on Halloween of 2022. After a night of drinking the two men made the decision to return to the job site and pay the victim a visit, and teach him a lesson. The problem with the lesson is the men beat the homeless man to death using sledgehammers.

Sledgehammer Killers of Homeless Man Headed to Prison

According to WOOD, 23-year-old Zachary S. Trainor and 30-year-old Bryan C. Wimbley have been convicted in the brutal murder of 33-year-old Lashaun Keith. Trainor and Wimbley were each sentenced to between 15 and 30 years in prison.

After a long investigation Trainor and Wimbley confessed to taking part in the sledgehammer killing of Keith. Trainor said, “He was whimpering, like begging, like ‘Please don’t touch me anymore’ like ‘Don’t hurt me anymore,’ like ‘Please, just stop.'”

A third man was tied to the crime since his DNA was found on gloves in a field near where the body had been disposed. The third man admitted to helping move the body for pay. No word if he was convicted or a crime or made a deal in exchange for his testimony.
