KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A preliminary investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has revealed more details behind an Ohio plane crash that killed a Vicksburg pilot.
Robert Coles, 46, was delivering a plane that was purchased from Elite Air Service on Dec. 30 when he crashed about 20 minutes from his destination in Adams County, Ohio, according to the NTSB’s preliminary findings.

Before the Flight:
Prior to the flight, the owner completed maintenance on the plane, but told investigators it didn’t have an annual inspection, according to the report.
