KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A proposed ordinance being introduced Monday night to the Kalamazoo Township Board of Trustees would prohibit township resources from being used in immigration enforcement unless authorized by township officials.
It comes as President Donald Trump’s administration pursues mass deportation goals . The item is one of several agenda items going to the board in response to executive orders signed last week.

“Several of these executive orders that we referenced in our resolution specifically named state and local government entities. So, we are pulled into this whether we like it or not. And that forces us then, without policies currently on the books, to establish policies. We owe that to our residents to let them know what to expect when they walk through our doors, when they interact with police, etc.,” said David Combs, township supervisor.
