Limousines and red carpets: Kalamazoo’s Night to Shine celebrates guests as royalty

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — It was a night to remember for those who attended Night to Shine in Kalamazoo on Friday.

Hosted by local churches around the world, Night to Shine is a complementary event for those with special needs, specifically those aged 14 years and older who are living with disabilities, according to organizers.

Each Friday night event was unique to its location.

However, some activities that could be found across all events include: red carpet entrance with a “warm welcome from a friendly crowd and paparazzi,” hair and makeup stations, shoeshines, limousine rides, karaoke, gifts, a catered dinner, a Sensory Room, dancing and more.
