A Holland Township collision involving a sedan and a snow plowing front-end loader left one man severely injured yesterday morning. The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash site on the westbound I-196 Business Loop Drive near Van Hill Drive at approximately 7:20 a.m., as reported by WOOD TV.
A 22-year-old Holland man was behind the wheel of the sedan that was struck, said deputies. The FOX 17 News report identifies the other vehicle as a large front-end loader utilized for snow removal. The loader, operated by a 45-year-old Zeeland man, was turning onto Van Hill Drive at the time of the incident. Both drivers were confirmed to be wearing their seat belts when the collision occurred.
The impact of the crash necessitated emergency services to transport the driver of the sedan to a local hospital, where he remains in serious condition.
