Police explain why you might hear gunfire in Grand Rapids beginning Monday

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Heads up, Grand Rapidians—you might hear some gunfire beginning Monday as part of the police department’s firearms training.

This is mandatory training for Grand Rapids officers and will take place at the department’s Training Range, which is in the area of Market Avenue SW and I-196. Those living or working in that area are more likely to hear the gunshots.
