Two men face charges for instant lottery scam in Huron County

HURON COUNTY, Mich. (WJRT) – Two men from Kalamazoo are accused of trying to purchase lottery tickets with a stolen credit card in Huron County.

Hason Smith and Ruben Whimper each face two felonies, including conspiracy to commit false pretenses.

Investigators say the men went into a store in Bad Axe and bought $1,000 worth of instant lottery tickets. Smith and Whimper would then scratch off the tickets and cash in the winnings, netting around $1,900…
