Stevens faces felony assault charge for attack in downtown Coldwater

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A 38-year-old Sherwood man who police say attacked another man on West Chicago Street in downtown Coldwater Tuesday night is being held in the Branch County Jail on a $250,000 bond.

Robert Jory Stevens was arraigned Thursday and charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm, a 10-year felony, a five-year felony of malicious destruction of property, and two counts of resisting arrest.

A witness told police they also saw Stevens breaking out the windows of the Southern Michigan Bank and Trust offices at 48 West Chicago earlier Tuesday…
