Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office Uniform Response and detectives from the CID Unit handled a shooting/homicide in the City of Hartford. “I cannot go into details being it’s an open pending case with the suspect in custody. I can disclose an altercation that took place, and ultimately the wife was lodged for the incident. It was an isolated incident with no danger to the public,” said Van Buren County Sheriff’s Daniel Abbott.
Uniform Response assisted in a pursuit of a stolen vehicle/felonious assault with South Haven Police Department. A Sheriff’s deputy was in the area when it started and was able to set up stop sticks as the vehicle was approaching. “Right after hitting the sticks, the suspect driver’s evasive reaction caused him to lose control, hence crashing in a ditch. It should be noted that when tires run over stop sticks, it deflates them steadily and doesn’t blow out a tire and allows the driver to stop prior to the tire going flat,” said Sheriff Abbott.
“I would like to thank everyone who participated this past week in the free adoptions at the shelter. I am pleased to announce every available dog was adopted but one. I believe that dogs are going to be adopted right after I send out this update. To go further, we always appreciate the citizens adopting animals out of the shelter,” said Sheriff Abbott…
