KALAMAZOO, Mich. — An incoming transitional family shelter in Kalamazoo now has a name and a new website.
Called “The Landing Place,” the facility is expected to offer families experiencing homelessness short-term housing and supportive services, according to Kalamazoo County Government on Wednesday.
The facility also looks to serve as more than a temporary shelter by offering a “compassionate, trauma-informed approach” to families in need.

“We chose the name The Landing Place because that’s we want this shelter to be – a safe, stabilizing space for families during one of the most difficult times in their lives,” Kalamazoo County Administrator/Controller Kevin A. Catlin said. “It reflects our broader commitment to meeting residents where they are and helping them move toward a stronger future.”…
