State schools superintendent, former Kalamazoo Public Schools head, to retire

LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The top education official in Michigan, who previously served as superintendent for Kalamazoo Public Schools, is stepping down later this year.

Dr. Michael Rice. Michigan’s Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Michael F. Rice announced his retirement from the position Friday. His last day will be October 3, 2025.
