Portage drug bust ends in 1 arrest

PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) — A man is facing multiple felony charges following a drug bust in Portage earlier this week.

On Wednesday, members of the Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team, the Crime Reduction Team, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives searched a home on Newells Lane near Forest Drive following an investigation into drug sales and illegal weapon possession.

They found methamphetamine, evidence of drug manufacturing and distribution, a large amount of money believed to be profits from drug sales, three handguns, two rifles, a shotgun, and two suppressors were seized. The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety said one of the firearms had “an obliterated serial number.”…
