On Thursday at 10:36 a.m. EDT the National Weather Service issued a frost advisory valid for Friday between midnight EDT and 9 a.m. EDT for Muskegon, Montcalm, Gratiot, Ottawa, Kent, Ionia, Clinton, Allegan, Barry, Eaton, Ingham, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun and Jackson counties.
The weather service adds to be ready for, “Temperatures in the lower to mid 30s will result in frost formation.”
“Sensitive outdoor plants could be damaged if left uncovered,” describes the weather service. “Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.”
What to do if there is a frost advisory
Frost advisories are issued from May to October (but can be extended if necessary) when temperatures, winds, and sky cover are favorable for frost development.
