Kalamazoo Gospel Mission Leader Retires Announces Replacement

The Kalamazoo Gospel Mission has been a helpful organization for the Kalamazoo community for decades as they were founded in 1933. They began operations as a depression-era soup kitchen but has now turned their focus to helping the mentally ill, homeless, and recovery communities. Everything they do is faith based and is coupled with ministry work.

Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries serves men, women and children in crisis, offering emergency shelter, food, addiction recovery and a faith-based approach to healing. With a mission rooted in Christ, KGM strives to restore hope and provide tangible support to those in need in the Kalamazoo area.

Kalamazoo Gospel Mission Announces New Leader

The Gospel Mission has been known for helping everyone who is in need while also doing their best to incorporate God and ministry into things. They have been a great organization for many people to connect with others in the community while being a breath of fresh air for others. All of this had been led by the amazing Rev. Michael L. Brown for the last 28 years.

Earlier this week the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission announced that their fearless leader Rev. Michael L. Brown would be retiring from his post as president and CEO at the end of 2025. Rev. John Simpson, the Chief Operating Officer for the nonprofit will be taking over his duties in 2026…
