House fire causes $40K in damages, no one injured

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — No one was injured after a house fire Saturday afternoon.

Responding to smoke and flames coming from the rear of a two-story house on Union Street near Sherman Road, Battle Creek Fire Department (BCFD) was able to control the fire within 12 minutes and estimated the total damages to be about $42,000, according to BCFD officials.
