Battle Creek Enquirer-area high school sports top performers for May 5-10

Here is a list of the top performers in high school sports from the Battle Creek Enquirer-area for the week of May 3-10.

Track

The Harper Creek boys track team won the Berrien Springs Invitational. Harper Creek, ranked No. 1 in the state in Division 2, had 144 team points to edge host Berrien Springs with 126.5. The Beavers set two school records at the meet. Senior distance runner Dominic Lowrie broke the school record in the 3,200 meters at 9:19.77. Senior Tre’Quan Cotton broke the school record in the high jump at 6-foot, 7-inches. In other action, the Beavers’ DJ Wood swept the hurdle events, winning the 110 hurdles in 14.95 and the 300 hurdles in 41.14. The 3,200 relay took first with the team of Brock Hibbs, Cooper Gardner, Christian Ayres and Lowrie in 8:13.06…
